Qualifications and Requirements of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Role:

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) required (CNS track)
• National certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) required or must be able to obtain prior to start date
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) State of Virginia
• This is a TRUE CNS role, not an educator position
• New Grad CNS candidates will be considered with at least three (3) years medical surgical and/or critical care experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Must be able to use specialized knowledge and skills within the three spheres of influence (patient/family, nurses and organization/system)
• Should possess the proven ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers, students, instructors, and leaders
